The Big "3"

My 3rd birthday finally arrived! It took a lot of patience on my part since there are many February birthdays among our family and friends, and I had to wait the whole month to have my own turn. When it finally came around, I figured out how to milk it for all it was worth with 3 different celebrations. Several of my friends joined me to paint pottery at an art studio. When Mommy asked what I'd like on my cake, I modestly suggested a picture of myself. I had another party with cupcakes at pre-school, and Uncle Mike even flew in from Chicago for my actual birthday and joined us for a special macaroni and cheese dinner. YUMMY!

Jack Turns One!!!

I celebrated my first birthday on February 20th at home with many of my play group friends. It's hard to believe it's already been a whole year but in other ways, Mommy and Daddy have aged way more than a normal year's worth of aging! Everyone is glad to have reached this milestone and my new walking/running ability makes it more fun for me and Sophie to play chase around the house!

My First Princess Party

My friend Kiki has a birthday just a couple of weeks before me, and she decided to have a Princess Party. I have to admit, I'm not all that into the princess thing. I find my Cinderella dress to be scratchy and uncomfortable...but with a little coaxing from Mommy (and a new pair of blue satin gloves and necklace to match my dress), I rose to the occassion and wore my dress. There was a real princess at the party and she painted our faces. As soon as she left, I stripped down and got into something a little more comfortable. All in all, it was a really fun party and I'll pretty much wear anything to get a piece of birthday cake!
